Volcano’s ‘Ohi’a Lehua Half Marathon and 5 km!

Date: Saturday, July 27, 2019

Half Marathon: 7 a.m.

5 KM: 7:15 a.m.

Keiki Dash: 10 a.m.


Important Information:

Where can I pick up my packet?

Packet-pick will be on:

-Thursday, July 25th, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at WikiFresh Hilo

-Friday, July 26th, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Volcano School of Arts & Sciences on Haunani Road

-Saturday, July 27th, 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at The Volcano School of Arts & Sciences campus on Haunani Road

Can I do late registration?

Yes, late Registration is available at Packet Pick-up on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Those who choose to do late registration are NOT guaranteed to receive a race shirt.  

Can I get a refund or transfer to another year?

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I change to a different distance?

Yes, you can change to a different distance at packet pick-up. You will not receive a refund if you downgrade your distance (Half Marathon —> 5K). You will need to pay the difference if you upgrade your distance (5K—> Half Marathon).

When does the finish line close?

There is a 4 hour cut-off for the half marathoners. The finish line will officially close at 11 a.m.

Where can I find results?

Results will be posted in real-time at Race Results. We will also update the website as soon as possible with the results.

Do I get a medal for finishing the race?

Half marathoners will receive a finisher’s medal.

Will I get a race shirt for finishing the race?

All half marathoners and 5Kers will receive a finisher’s shirt.

What is the course like?

Volcano’s ‘Ohi’a Lehua Half Marathon will be run up Wright Road with an elevation change of about 500 feet, runners will turn around at the top and head back down.

The 5K will be rolling hills.

How many aid stations will there be?

There will be 6 aid stations for the half marathon and 1 aid station for the 5K.

 What will the weather be like on Race Day?

Weather can be as low as the mid 50s at the start of the race and can get up to the mid 70s. July is known to have moderate amounts of rain in Volcano so be prepared for the possibly of a sprinkle.
